What is TPS?
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a U.S. immigration program that allows people from countries experiencing extraordinary crises to live and work in the United States for a limited time. Haiti was designated for TPS after the devastating 2010 earthquake and continues to qualify due to ongoing instability, violence, and natural disasters.
For over 350,000 Haitian TPS holders, this protection is a lifeline. It enables families to work, contribute to their communities, and stay together in safety. Ending TPS would put them at risk of deportation back to conditions no family should face.
